“A good product, creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, ongoing enhancements and improvements, data-oriented activity, and most important - paying attention to the little things, this is how you win!“

CMO

Experienced Chief Marketing Officer for Baba Entertainment. Skilled in digital strategy, mobile applications, media buying, management, and account management.

What exactly do you do?

I’m the CMO of Baba Entertainment. That means my job is to spend money (sounds like fun, no?), but to do it wisely. The idea is to cater the growth of the company, build the infrastructure and processes (that involve other departments) so we can scale while optimizing our activity and bring quality users to our game(s). It also means thinking about crazy ideas and then implementing them. So yes… it’s actually fun (other than the crazy looks I’m getting from the CFO!)

What are your pillars for successful and scalable activity?

Well, good product, creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, ongoing enhancements and improvements, data-oriented activity, and most important – paying attention to the little things, this is how you win!

What was your first gaming platform and how many months of your childhood did you spend on it?

Really? well… I’m a big football fan, so you could always find me outside playing football with friends… I guess it won’t say much as this is super old, but the first game I used to play was a football pc game name Italia 90′, there was a glitch I found in the game so I could score a goal from a specific spot on the field, regardless anything else, so once I found that, I always won, always 🙂

Why is your company so awesome?

Well… they say not to mix business with pleasure, right? so Baba is the exact example of why to mix these two… how come? cause most of the people actually prefer to work from the office, cause everyone here believes in the team and sees our results, cause almost no one leaves… and of course, cause we’re a dog-friendly office 🙂

How involved should game designers, analysts, data scientists and product managers be in the growth advertising activity?

We’re the executors – without the ongoing support of the other key functions, we will never be able to build an ongoing sustainable and scalable activity. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to work with the other teams closely, as at the end of the day, what makes you better than others are the little things – the little creative enhancements, the ongoing incremental changes derived by the analysts’ insights, etc.

What is your favorite perk at your company?

Our ping pong table… I love this game although I must admit, I don’t win in most cases… but it’s still the best thing to get the heartbeat a little bit higher, to get the body moving for a while other than just do nothing physically all day… I think I need to take lessons though

If you hadn't picked this career, what career would you never do or be the worst at?

I’m not the most patient guy you’ll meet. I think what I love the most in gaming and marketing is that you get to create impact and see results in the short term. So it’s quite addictive – you’re changing something and you see the results within a day or a few. So I guess I won’t be able to be a scientist that is working on something that may or may not do something in 20 years. I need answers sooner I guess…
